Garland Guitar Academy was founded by Callum Garland, a professional guitarist and educator passionate about helping students of all levels master the guitar.

Our team is made up of active, working musicians, gigging artists, recording session players, and experienced teachers, all dedicated to delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that reflect the real-world experience of today’s music industry.

Our mission is simple: to make exceptional, authentic music education accessible to everyone.

We believe students learn best when taught by musicians who are actively creating, performing, and recording, professionals who understand what it truly means to grow as a guitarist in the modern world.

By combining performance expertise with a love for teaching, our tutors create a space that’s inspiring, practical, and personal, helping every student progress with confidence and creativity.

About Callum Garland

Hey, I’m Callum, guitarist, educator, and founder of Garland Guitar Academy.

My journey started in leafy Surrey, when my sister received a guitar for her birthday… but was too shy to use it. I offered to take her lessons “so I could teach her later”.... and never quite got around to that part (sorry, sis). From the moment I learned Sunshine of Your Love, I was hooked.

Since then, I’ve spent my life working on my craft and learning from incredible teachers and musicians. My passion for music led me from teaching at Musicland East and gigging across the UK and Europe, to earning my music degree at BIMM Brighton, where I developed my love for Pop, RnB, Rock, and everything in between.

Now, my mission is to give back, by helping others experience the same spark that changed my life.

Through Garland Guitar Academy, I’ve built a platform where students can learn directly from real, working musicians, develop their own voice, and gain the confidence to play, perform, and create their own path in music.
